About

From the outset it has been our intention to create an easily accessible forum where people who are interested in all aspects of wellbeing and health can meet, talk and work together to improve their health and wellbeing and develop themselves in whatever way they want.

My background has been in health and social care. I trained as a nurse and midwife and worked in the public sector in a variety of services including caring for carers, mental health day care and supporting people who wish to stay in their own homes as they grow older and more infirm.

Mike’s background is in occupational health, safety and wellbeing and he has a particular interest in managing stress in both organisational and personal environments. He is a qualified coach and assists small business owners, coaches and therapists in developing successful practices.

Star Communities Vision

When Star Communities first started in 2004, there was a vision of creating a place where people who believed that the world could be a different, better place could meet and together they would be able to help make the world a different, better place. A place where those seeking support, answers or guidance can find it without judgement or fear and where, with love and encouragement, they can become the people they have it in themselves to be.

Over the past 8 years through events such as the Lewes Wellbeing Fest, The Feel Good Fest, The Feel Good Show and the Wellbeing Wave, thousands of people have done just that.

We are delighted to be able to carry on this work and this website with its events programme, directory and community space is the next stage of that vision. We are pleased to have been able to use the strong foundation and to be able to build upon it in a way which we believe will empower many thousands more, to engage with the life and lifestyle they want and which is truly theirs.
